The Fashion School offers undergraduates programmes in Fashion Technology to prepare you for careers in fashion designing, production and retailing. These programmes offer you an opportunity to explore the relationship between creativity, production technology and commercial feasibility. You will acquire practical and business skills to succeed in a highly competitive Fashion industry.
We encourage creative expression in all aspects of fashion design, including illustration, pattern making, garment construction, fashion forecasting, and marketing. You will also be encouraged to develop your personal creative style and create a fashion collection of your own. Your final design collection is evaluated by a jury of fashion industry experts and showcased in a highly publicized Fashion Show.
We also give you an opportunity to train in the industry through our Internship and Traineeship programmes. This period of traineeship helps you to perform in the real world of Fashion while cultivating your own personal vision and gives you the opportunity to network with industry professionals.This programme provides you with a strong foundation in interdisciplinary skills required in the Fashion industry.
You will learn elements of design, drawing & rendering and research techniques. During this programme, you will carry out a variety of exercises like Still life, Nature study, geometrical forms to develop your drawing skills, using mixed media.You will be taught how to draft basic patterns to full-scale and to adapt them to incorporate a range of design features. During this programme, you will also develop skills in using appropriate equipment and machinery for garment construction. You will also explore software to acquire knowledge of computers in fashion design
